As of October 15, we are only open for hotel guests.
We will retain this hotel function, also during the strict lock-down that applies since 15 December.

With this we meet the need of both our business and leisure guests alike to be able to stay in the region in a safe way, if there is reason to do so.


The restaurant, gardens and sculpture garden will remain closed, certainly until mid-January, the next reference date on which the government will evaluate decisions and carefully look ahead. We will apply this policy very strictly, in order to guarantee the necessary space and safety for our hotel guests both inside and outside.


As a hotel guest you can, of course, order breakfast, lunch and dinner. However, not in our restaurant.


Under the current measures, we cannot maintain a restaurant function and we are not allowed to offer room service. We do offer a pick-up service. We will place a nice table in your room so that you can enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner there. All dishes are served in an appropriate manner and on appropriate crockery and can be picked up by yourself from our kitchen at a mutually agreed time. Of course we guarantee the quality that you are used to from us.

We have done our utmost to scrutinize our entire business operations - our policy has always been very strict when it comes to hygiene and safety - and to refine it further where necessary. As you are used to from us, as a guest you will not notice all that effort behind the scenes. You simply stay in a unique location full of atmosphere, together in a relaxed way away from being forced to stay at home, in a beautiful, natural environment, the idyllic Drentse Reestdal. Also on a quiet estate where peace, space and privacy are above average. A safe oasis within the moat, so for the time being only accessible to our hotel guests.


Temporarily changed policy. What do you notice concretely of our adjustments?


We list the most striking changes: We only receive hotel guests on the site within the canal.

Crowds are excluded; De Havixhorst has a total of only 13 hotel rooms; We will not use 5 of these rooms under current policy to guarantee peace and security inside and out.

If you book directly with us, you can always cancel free of charge; this applies as long as the restrictive corona measures for the catering industry remain in force. You will then receive 100% reimbursement of your payment, in the form of a voucher.

Are you sick or have a cold, do you have complaints? Then we ask you to stay at home, for the safety of other guests and our team members.

Always keep 5 feet away from other guests and team members.

If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe with something, let us know immediately. We will certainly take this into account and if possible take immediate action. We may have missed something.

As always, we also offer the option of serving breakfast, lunch or dinner in the room. However, we currently have a limited menu choice. We are also not allowed to bring this to the room; you can pick up your order in the kitchen.

Unfortunately, we are currently not allowed to receive you anywhere else than in your room. So not in the restaurant, our lounge / bar or on one of our terraces.

Would you also like to let us know what time you would like to pick up? This is to avoid crowds.

It takes some getting used to: the staff of De Havixhorst wears a mouth mask. We use masks of the type that are especially suitable to prevent contamination in others, especially with a view to your health.

Are you staying for several nights? Please clearly indicate your preference for cleaning the room. Our housekeeping will only enter and clean the room if you wish and if you are not present.

Use of sanitary facilities is only possible in your own hotel room.

To avoid crowds on the stairs, we request that you only use the large staircase in the hall when you walk upstairs. The stairs at the elevator, in the stairwell, are only used to descend. In this way we do not meet each other on the stairs.

In addition to the usual hand soap, every hotel room also has a means to disinfect surfaces.

We do not receive cash payments; you can only pay with a pin or credit card.

You will soon notice: in essence, not much has even changed. The quality of an overnight stay at the De Havixhorst estate has certainly not deteriorated. We have always been able to offer you peace and space in an elegant environment. More than ever we do our utmost best to let you enjoy the good life in Drenthe.
